Create a Service

Service architecture

Services are the endpoint collections. You define the service through an Open API specification. You can create and reuse endpoints created inside the SnapLogic ecosystem or from 3rd-party REST and SOAP services. You can also apply versioning for these services, allowing you to update a service component without creating a new one.

Service lifecycle

The Service lifecycle includes all of the typical CRUD operations. Service creation is the first step of the Service lifelcycle. When a Service is published to the Developer Hub, you can unpublish it, as well as republish, deprecate, and retire from use by the consumers who subscribe to it.

  • Access to SnapLogic IIP UI
  • The APIM feature is turned on for your environment
  1. Go to to the Service Catalog page.
  1. Click Add service.
  2. Click Add service from spec.
  3. From the Project dropdown, select the project you want the Service saved to.
    When you create a Service from other SnapLogic assets, you should keep them in one project.
  4. Add the definition of your service through one of the two options:
    • Click Upload spec to upload the file from your local folder.
    • Paste the spec URL into the URL field.
  5. Click Create.
    Your service is created in the specified project. The service description is pulled from the spec.
Your Service asset now requires definition of the following:
  • Subscriptions
  • Endpoints
  • Policies
  • Assets
  • Documentation
